The Martinsburg Fire Department is a 37 member career fire department providing fire suppression, advanced life support EMS, specialized rescue (extrication, high/low angle rope, trench, confined space, and structural collapse), fire investigation, fire code enforcement, hazardous materials response, public safety education, and child safety seat installation to the citizens of our community. The department serves the City of Martinsburg from two fire stations, which are manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by personnel trained in emergency response. Emergency apparatus includes three (3) ALS ambulances, three (3) engines and an additional one (1) in reserve, one (1) rescue squad, one (1) aerial tower, and support vehicles which include specialized rescue trailers.

Mission Statement

The Martinsburg Fire Department is to provide the citizens of Martinsburg with an effective and efficient emergency response service. The mission is to also provide other necessary services essential to the health, safety, and well-being of the community. Services offered include, but are not limited to, delivery of the following:

  • Fire Suppression
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Specialized Rescues
  • Mitigation of Man-made or Natural Catastrophes
  • Risk Prevention
  • Public Safety Education
  • Investigation
